WHAT THIS IS ABOUT
The workshop will discuss safety topics and potential dangers of highway construction and maintenance. It will teach the basics of OSHA standards for highway construction safety and the leading causes of fatal events. The class will “become OSHA inspectors” as real world fatal events will be analyzed for the cause, contributing factors, and potential corrections/recommendations.WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Local and state government employees, consulting engineers, and others with an interest or involved in the highway construction safety and maintenance.INSTRUCTOR
John P. Wagner, M.S. (Industrial Engineering)
Mr. Wagner has nearly 20 years of progressive experience investigating construction safety topics and authoring reports for the national OSHA office. He has co-authored published studies involving crane fatalities, trenching accidents, and residential roofing. He is the author and editor of the quarterly CIRPC publication “Construction Fatality Digest,” which is widely circulated in the construction safety community.

REGISTRATION
The registration fee is $75 per person. A city or county employee is eligible for a TTAP scholarship registration fee of $45. TDOT employees must register through their local TDOT Training Office. The workshop fee includes ONLY materials and coffee breaks. A course may be canceled if there is low enrollment. Forty-eight hours notice will be given to registrants if a course is canceled. Register early! Limited enrollment.
