WHAT THIS IS ABOUT

This session is a comprehensive review of the features and benefits of the ATC cabinet, how modern ATC controllers integrate with the cabinet, and deployment experience including use cases. The session will be semi-technical providing information on what steps are required to ensure successful adoption and deployments using various manufacturers’ ATC controllers. Information on ATC cabinet integration using SWARCO McCain, Q-Free, and Yunex Traffic ATC controllers will be provided.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

All transportation professionals responsible for traffic signal design, operation and maintenance are welcome. 

INSTRUCTORS

Eric Itzel, ITS Engineer – SWARCO McCain

Mr. Itzel’s current role is an ITS Engineer for SWARCO McCain. In this role he presents new innovations, provides extensive onsite training and performs other onsite field services to agencies across North America. He also collaborates with other technology and innovation providers in the intelligent transportation sector to better further the industry. When not working onsite Mr. Itzel works from his home office in Thomaston Maine or at the company headquarters in Vista California.

Matt McCain, Technical Lead – Q-Free

Matt McCain is the Technical Sales Lead at Q-Free with nearly a decade of experience in traffic management. He previously worked as a traffic signal shop supervisor and technician, gaining extensive expertise in signal cabinets, hardware, troubleshooting, and system integration. Matt has hands-on experience with various signal controllers, detection systems, and network configurations, as well as a passion for advancing traffic signal technology. He is IMSA-certified as a Traffic Signal Technician III, Bench Technician II, and Traffic Signal Inspector I.

In his personal time, Matt enjoys collecting traffic signals and has even built a fully operational intersection in his basement.

Nikhita Singh – Senior Software Developer –  Yunex Traffic.

Nikhita is a skilled software engineer with a Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Houston, specializing in embedded systems. At Yunex Traffic, she focuses on developing Connected Vehicle-to-Everything technologies, including Blade controllers, Road Side Units (RSUs), and On-Board Units (OBUs). Her work spans application development, testing, and integration for both vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communication. From concept to deployment, Nikhita is dedicated to delivering seamless, forward-looking solutions for safer, smarter transportation.
