WHAT THIS IS ABOUT

This course provides defensive driving awareness for personnel operating vehicles in storm-affected and disaster response environments. Emphasis is placed on defensive driving techniques, stress management, route awareness, and recognizing hazards such as pedestrians, responders, and debris-removal vehicles. The course reinforces personal accountability, situational awareness, and decision-making to reduce crash risk and improve safety while traveling to, from, and within response and recovery areas.
