WHAT THIS IS ABOUT
Systemic Safety Project Selection Tool is one of the Planning & Engineering Modules in the Road Safety Champion Program. Take a deep dive into the Systemic Safety Project Selection Tool. The tool is a process for identifying the factors that can contribute to crashes and implementing effective countermeasures. The training will also cover the seven steps of the safety analysis process and discuss how it can be applied using both the traditional site safety analysis method and the systemic analysis method.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
The primary target audience for this module is transportation, public health, and first responder personnel who have an interest in roadway safety but are not safety experts and are taking part in the Road Safety Champion Program.
INSTRUCTOR
Todd Morrison, P.E
Todd Morrison is a Technology Transfer Engineer with the University of Kentucky and a road safety advocate. In addition, for the past sixteen years he has worked for numerous Local Technical Assistance Programs. He has taught over 1000 workshops and trained over 30000 individuals. He retired from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet after serving in the Divisions of Construction, Maintenance and Traffic. Todd served for two years as Kentucky’s Safety Circuit Rider helping local agencies identify low-cost improvements to reduce crashes. He also served for two years as a Road Safety Subject Matter Expert for the Tribal Technical Assistance Program. Todd is an ATSSA certified Traffic Control Supervisor, Flagging Instructor, and Traffic Control Design Specialist. He is also a Certified Public Manager and NHI certified instructor.
